About Me

I am the director and head instructor at Horse Riding Auckland.

I have been riding horses for over 25 years. I have competed in dressage, show jumping, eventing and endurance riding.

I have trained under great competition riders such as Leanne Chambers, Maurice Beatson and Katie McVean, and I was short listed for the Olympic training squad when I was only 14 years old. I have broken and schooled horses and have taught literally hundreds of people to ride.

I am passionate about horses and teaching. I believe interactions between horse and rider should be one of enjoyment and kindness for both parties. I always strive to have fun whilst teaching my students.

I believe children learn valuable lessons in caring and riding horses and ponies. Horses have been used in many varied types of therapy with miraculous results. I believe that by learning to interact with horses and ponies in a way that gets results, a child can be set up for life. We have so many lessons to learn from our dear friends.

Horse riding and caring for horses is also an incredibly enjoyable way to spend your time. Not only does it provide fitness and exercise but also the opportunity to create an incredible bond with a beautiful creature. You work as a team to get great results.
