James Evanow is the “Captain of Change”, international motivational speaker, business strategy coach, and author. James is a third generation commercial fisherman and the son of a dynamic entrepreneur, who founded a multi-million dollar seafood company. Growing up in this fluid and dynamic business environment, he learned many things, most of all how important it is to adapt to changing regulations, market swings, employee retention, and one of the hardest lessons, losing his father in a tragic boat wreck in the late 80’s.

He continued in the seafood industry for another 10 years before founding and nurturing multiple businesses, including an athletic clothing line, which he sold to a multi-million dollar company. James spent 10 years in the mortgage banking industry, where he was designated the first certified mortgage planner in the State of Oregon. Here is when he started speaking with insurance agents and financial planners on strategies for their clients to protect their finances. It didn’t take long before James realized that he had a passion for teaching and empowering entrepreneurs and business leaders strategies to break through obstacles and challenges, and how to adapt during stormy situations.

James is the author of Wisdom From the Sea, a book about lessons on how to deal with change, emotional intelligence, the human condition, teamwork, risk based decisions, and finding your inner leader. James is an Anthony Robbins-Cloe Madanes Certified “Strategic Intervention” Life Coach, and also a Certified NLP practitioner.

James still returns to the ocean once a year to rejuvenate his body and mind. The rest of time he spends delivering keynote speeches to corporations, organizations, and with the loss of his father in mind, he is available to speak to safety in the work place.
