An educational consultant and former administrator with more than two decades of experience at public and arts schools across Ohio, John (J.R.) Carlisle owns and operates Carlisle Educational Services in Miamisburg. Following receipt of a degree in music education from Marshall University, John Carlisle began a prolific career as a music educator, working with students at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. After three years as humanities community principal of Colonel White High School, Mr. Carlisle went on to Cincinnati’s School for the Creative and Performing Arts, where he served as principal from 2006 to 2008.
Since then, John Carlisle has consulted for schools and performing arts programs in Ohio and beyond, offering his expertise as director of the Carolina Judges Association, as well as serving as an adjudicator for Bands of America, Drum Corp International, and Winter Guard International. At present, he works with more than 50 such programs in the Midwestern and Southeastern United States.
